Travel with Me: A Weekend in Yellowstone

There’s something holy about the quiet drive into Yellowstone. I left Bozeman early—iced coffee in the cupholder, my pup Napoleon in the passenger seat, and the mountains still soft with morning light. We took the scenic route, through Big Sky, where the rivers glimmer like ribbons and the sky stretches a little wider.

By the time we hit West Yellowstone, the town was buzzing with travelers. Some were crowding around the welcome sign. Others were just waking up, stepping out of their campers, brushing their hair into messy buns, cameras already swinging from their necks. It felt like everyone was chasing something beautiful.

I parked at our McDonald’s right at the entrance. If you know, you know—our patio has the best people-watching in town. Parents refueling with hot coffee, kids licking ice cream cones bigger than their heads, and couples debating if they have time for one more geyser before sunset.

I grabbed a bag of ice for the road (always) and a Frozen Blue Raspberry Fanta, just because it felt like summer. Then we headed into the park.

Bison, thermal pools, and a moment of awe that made me forget to check my phone—that was my weekend. I’ll be back soon, and I hope you will be too. And when you do, come find us. We’ve got your fries waiting.
